Every year, GISUP attracts scores of scholars to share new findings of their research and ideas which will contribute to shape our Earth’s sustainable future. In 2019, this remarkable event will be held in Kaohsiung, the second biggest city of Taiwan. I am very glad to introduce the beauty as well as the hospitality of Kaohsiung to all the participants in GISUP-2019. As a harbor city, Kaohsiung features its great cultural diversity and rich history. Besides, please don’t miss traditional Taiwanese snacks at night market; the foods there are sure to satisfy a gourmet’s craving for delicacy. Kaohsiung is still a rather young city, and its face keeps changing. How to strike a balance among history, environment and modern development remains a challenge for the government and citizens. With my greatest sincere, I hope GISUP-2019, Kaohsiung, would get you inspired and bring you a whole new perspective on the city. Wish you great time with us in Taiwan.
