I and very glad that the 13th GISUP will be held in Jeonju this year. Best of all, I think it is very interesting to see the reproduction of ancestral Korean ways of studying in traditional housing. The city of Jeonju, is one of the strongest traditional Korean cities, and it is still alive with the heart and soul of Baekje but also with popular traditional Korean style, grace, and taste. Once, the city was the capital of Hubaekje Kingdom, which was founded by Gyeon Hwon. The city was regarded as the spiritual capital of the Joseon Dynasty because the Yi royal family originated there. Jeonju bibimbap(비빔밥), a traditional local food, is well-known across South Korea. There are also several very popular vegetation restaurants serving Jeonju style food and pine wine. I believe this will be a good opportunity for all GISUP presenters to exchange knowledge, make new friends, and share cultural experiences while we present the results of our studies. I would like to thank Professor Ishimatsu who has been leading the Japanese research team for 13 years and taking time out of his busy schedule to attend this Jeonju trip. And I appreciate Professor Choi Seungpil's effort for preparing GISUP, Professor Kim Ueungnam for editing and Professor Jun Byungdug in Japan. I want to offer my works of encouragement to the 4 session chairs and 14 presenters today as well. Thanks.
