Welcome to GISUP 2010 in KUMAMOTO

     I am happy that we can meet again at GISUP 2010 in Kumamoto. This GISUP is already the eleven times since we started GISUP symposium in 1999. It is impressive that through these symposia many students and researchers could exchange academic idea and promote friendship between Korea and Japan.

     We are facing many global wide serious problems like economical recession, global warming, food crisis and economic discrepancy. In order to cope with these serious problems, Korea and Japan are expected to act important rolls. We should cooperate and try to solve these serious problems together. The cooperation should be not only governmental level but also private level as well. Therefore, it is required that Korean and Japanese people understand each other and be good friends. I am proud of that our symposia made a great contribution to the exchange of academic idea and promotion of friendship between Korea and Japan.

     Kumamoto is a historical place with many historical places and beautiful nature filled with green.
     Let’s enjoy this symposium and be a good friend each other.
